Ok, Im going away this weekend. I will be leaving early Saturday morning and not comming back until Sunday afternoon. I have someone who can come over Sat night and change his water and food, but he really can't sit and hang out with the parakeet.

What do you think would be more stressful on Jack, being alone for all that time, or taking him to someone's house where he will have human company, but be in new surroundings?

I would leave him there in the house. If you want you can put some music on that you know will go for a few hours but not into his sleepy hours. New suroundings I think would be to stressful for such a short time. smile

That's not a problem at all... most weekends, I barely see my keets between Friday evening and Saturday evening (social life and work :-D), and they don't mind as long as I leave the TV on.

I agree, I think it would be fine smile

I pet sit sometimes, to bad we live so far apart that i cant help:(
Next time if you can find someone with a parakeet also and have them sit for the birds. I did that and they were fine and happy.
I am sure your keets will be ok!

Thanks everyone! I just feel so guilty leaving him all alone. He's such a spoiled birdie smile

I really wouldn't ever worry about a single day or two for a parakeet. Sometimes the keets think of it as a mini-vacation to rest and relax smile Just leave the music on soft, or if you can arrange it, on a timer so it goes off at night so they can sleep.
