What are the signs of stress in a parakeet? I know some shake, and some fly all over their cages, but I was wondering if a "normal" looking keet, i.e. one that bathes, eats, and drinks regularly can show signs of stress that don't involve anything out of the ordinary.

Could Diarrhea be a sign of stress?

Absolutely.

Diarrhea means at least one of the following:

a. a change in diet (especially to fresh foods)
b. stress
c. illness

If you have a keet with runny poops and have not just started feeding it some new fresh foods, you need a vet. Diarrhea from no clear cause is NOT normal.

Thank you, Faith.

Currently I believe that Mari's runny poop is caused by stress, since it's getting more solid, and now that she's eating more, the right color.

I don't believe she's seen a fresh food yet, (she's only 2 months old, and just left the nest), so I know it's not that.

If things continue, I plan on taking her to the vet to make sure, but she seems better by the day.

this is normal.

she has been taken from her nest, shipped all over, and has a new home with a new bird, and no more of the birds she was used to, so she is of course stressed out.

the runny poop is normal first few days just keep an eye on her and make sure she has fresh water and food:)

and try to make the transition as easy on her as you can, first of all she should be quarantined in a separate cage in a separate room....

cover all of her cage except the front, that way she can process only one part of her new home at a time without worringing about the predators from abover and behind .....

and dont mess with her too much ... let her be alone and process:)

This is a very helpful post, but I don't agree with some of the author's thoughts. To be healthy, you need to maintain mental balance. And if you can't find a good solution, then you should try PlusCBD brand cbd products. Here you can get coupons for up to 30% off your purchase of PlusCBD brand cbd products.
