My parakeet does not eat any kind of fruits!
I try to give it to her piece by piece every day,
but she just won't. Does it affect her health?
Can she get sick if she does not eat them regularly? What should I do?

mine run's away from the fruit

Mine is scared of fruit and vegetables. I put 1 in his food dish and he stayed on the far side of the cage away from it.
I can't get him to eat it.

I dont think they have to eat it..

You have to give it time, and try to introduce the fruits and veggies early ^_^

And I don't think they can get sick of not eating veggies regularly. Their seed is about 1/2 or 3/4 of their nutrition.

Although, feeding them too much of the same thing over, and over again, can make them sick.

Mine only like apples but i try other things like banana,ect. They don't mind the veggies but fruit doesn't excite them to much, just the apple pieces. They get a good seed mix and they are fine. They will eat what they want and they won't be sick because they don't eat everything you give them. Sometimes it works one day and you try something else and it doesn't. "You can lead a horse to water but you can make em' drink" I think thats how that saying goes. Just because I give them a new veggie or fruit doesn't mean they'll eat it or like it. You just keep offering thats the best way.

A way to get them to eat it is to smash berries (black,red, or blue) in to thier food mine love it another why to get them to eat it is to sprinkle spray millet on it the seeds will soak up some juices. Good luck with the friuts.

I've also heard of mixing a little fruit juice into their seed. I don't do that though, Cully doesn't like fruit. She will take it out of her bowl and throw it to the floor, she only eats veggies and grains (people foodwise)
