I apologize that I've been absent so long. These statistics courses are absolutely killing me. I am really struggling to pass them. It's completely exhausting me and I have had no free time to eat never mind do anything else.

I just finished my first half of winter term which was a regular leadership course plus statistics 1. Statistics 1 fried my brain. I was working on it all day every day and even then I was petrified I was having problem. I did make it through those two. Then I only got a day break before the second statistics course began last week. It uses a completely new book so everything is different again. I was in an absolute panic.

I will try my best to work some forum time in with this class - I think things will improve once statistics is over. This pair of classes in particular has just killed my brain, it is so challenging for me.

I know at WPI that everyone called the "sadistics" and indeed these things are really rough. I am right now stalling in these forums because I have to read a chapter in statistics and I feel so exhausted. But I have to go do it. I have not been able to think or breathe for over a solid month now. I really hope once the statistics class is over that my life will give me some more free time again. Right now I don't have time to do anything but classwork and critical to-do tasks and it is killing me. I've lost my weekends, my evenings, everything.

I am glad that this will probably be your only crazy hard course. When it ends you will have a life again. smile

Is there any way to incorporate studying with relaxing somehow? Take a bath while reviewing your notes and index cards (yes, i make myself index cards when i study). Or do yoga stretching poses with your text book open in front of you?

I haven't had time for a hot bath in weeks and I've been craving one. I haven't even had time for my 3 minute quick-stretch any more. I barely get time to eat while I work. I think a lot of the stress is the statistics classes. They are just SO hard.

I am requiring myself to come into these forums because they are the one real "non work" activity I do and I think that is good for my brain. I think I need to force myself to have even a tiny bit of balance. But it feels selfish to be in here because I have so much work to do.

I KIND of thought I might have wanted to take a statistics class, but hearing you speak of it, maybe I'm glad I didn't. What are the math prerequisites? Others?
