Hi all. I have not been on the forum in a while and I thought I'd give yall a little update.
First,I have had to be working a lot of hours so I have been spending my time at home with my flock. Also, it became a little depressing for me to see all yalls little (alive) birdies on here. I know I'm a big baby about animals passing but I can't help it! and since it's not the first for me this year, I feel that I'm allowed.
Let's see, what next. Ok. Stella is better. I had moved the cages right up close together. That was a good move, as I see it. Stella needed company and it has brought the flock closer, as Tweety was the alpha bird and he not only would not let the other birds get close to me, he did the same with Stella, while he flirted with Romena, (just like a guy, wouldn't you say?!) lol. So the three are getting closer, and I'm even more sure that Julliet is a male. Stella did a little flirting and Romena did not like that, even though they have not acted like a couple.
Stella still looks for Tweety, especially at bedtime. But not as frantically and she no longer sits in the corner with her head down, which is a relief for me. I've decided to get her a new cage, after the vet visit. I think it will go a long way towards getting over her grief. Although from what I've read, it may take months to years.
Which brings me to the Avian Vet visit. My appointment is for Monday at 11am. I have tried to get there three times and it seems that fate is working against me on this! lol I either had my boss calling me with an apt to do, like YESTERDAY, or my ride forgot about me! But these have proved to be like a practice run for me. Do you know how much is involved in taking three keets in two cages out on any outing?!
I have got the transport cages clean and ready, with small perches clean and in there. A bag with food and distilled water, cage covers, paper towels, etc, etc! I have a more responsible ride to take us. (my car is not air conditioned and since it is a work car, it is not the cleanest)! Plus I want to ride in the backseat with them, to help make it not so stressful for them.
Whew!!
I miss everyone on here, and I have come on here and read the comments a couple times. I'm still working and will be through Sunday, so I will be back with an update on the visit to the Avian vet soon. Wish me luck, for i will need it!
((((((((hugs to all)))))
