quite apart from how silly it is for christians to feel threatened by a dude who likes to write songs using lots of words like dragon, rainbow and gipsy, the real irony is that musicians do more to unite people than any baptist nutter ever could.

btw, rainbow wasn't his band, it was ritchie blackmores gig. heheheh. that stroppy little diva wouldn't thank the writers of the article for getting that wrong...

In their foolish suburb of reality they have created their own little culture of fear and ignorance supported by doctrine. I mean I don't like war but I will support our troops to the end. Par for the course - most musicians aren't worth this kind of effort.

They haven't ceased from the day they began. Check out their schedule. They have protests for almost every day.

I have a friend who lives down in Atlanta and goes to school there. The stories I hear and the pictures I get to see are absolutely priceless.

Please bear in mind that this church is a BAPTIST church. Not all Christian churches are idiots like this one.

I wonder why they haven't protested the UT Longhorns sign, which is the same as the one they are saying is a sign of the devil!

For the past little amount of time I have been going on and on about how I am ashamed and mortified about Christian behavior, and now that I've sort of taken a shot at them myself,I find myself clear on the other side now! lol, with you taking up for them and me not taking up for them. it seems like I've come a long way baby! (had to say that! it just went there)Not sure which direction but IDK.

Yes, I'm still a believer, and yes, I'm still a Christian but i do not approve of nor do I condone this rediculous judgemental group of Christians. In my opinion they give Christianity a bad name.

When I was a little girl, our next door neighbor was a God fearing don't swear, don't dance, don't do this and that, go to church every Sunday. my family at the time, was Methodist.

This man had a little tool shed out back of his house and he would take the neighborhood girls in there and kiss and put his long, UGLY toungue in our mouths! My age was 8-9years old. i've never forgotten that and i never will!

Forgive me if I have no use for the baptist church! Who is held accountable for these embarrassing behaviors?

Although in all seriousness, no, Baptists do not condone this behavior as a denomination. Baptists are not defined by gay haters and veteran protesters. These are the actions of one fanatical church, that is all.

Unforunately, this time around they seem to be foccusing on Jewish Temples and Holocaust museums. I wouldn't recommend reading it. Raises my blood presure.

i guess I would know more about churches and all if I paid more attention to the News and all. I just had given up on GOING to church, after my family went in different directions....you may remember that I have said half went JW and the other half Pentacost.

Then I joined the forum and find out all these awful things about Christianity. So I HAVE been paying a little more attention now days.

I know it sounds lame and naive, but they ought to feel ashamed and worried about God's retribution, being as how it tells you in the Bible not to judge, lest you be judged, and all that!

When I was a child, I went to a Baptist church regularly ~ and it was just a normal sort of church, except that they went in for adult baptism. We had a service on Sunday mornings and one on Sunday evenings and 'Bible Study' on Monday evenings. All fairly tame really.
