I have step by step instructions on how to get published, either via a publishing house or self publishing, here - http://www.lisashea.com/lisabase/writing/gettingyourbookpublished/A key is to write all the time. Carry a notebook with you. Carry a voice recorder for the car. Write, record, capture bits of dialogue, the scent of a flower, the sound of a jazz band. You never know which random thought will become the core of a new story or poem!

I'll have a read of that.
I have lots of books on creative writing, etc and I have even written some articles ~ and a novel. Not much published yet ~ just a feature letter/article in the newspaper. (The neighbours were impressed!)

What a helpful page! Thanks!
I've always thought of publishing my poems, but it seems like too much of a hassle to do so. Besides the point that a poet never seems to be recognized until they die!

There are some English poets, who are alive, and quite well-known, I think.

Niki - I know many poets who are really enjoying attention while they live! It is all about getting your work out there so people can read and enjoy them. Have you looked at Mused, my literary magazine? We help many people get discovered every quarter - http://www.bellaonline.com/review/If you want to publish your own book of poems it is REALLY easy. Just put all your poems into a Word document. Then do File - Save As PDF. POOF you have a PDF file. Send that around to family and friends to get feedback. Then you can load it into Lulu or CreateSpace or CafePress for FREE and now the whole world can buy a copy. If you have any questions at all let us know, but it really is that easy

Might be easy, but will anyone read? I'd think a book would at least need a few visual aesthetics to make it readable. And visual aesthetics, I do not do well. Not my forte. I have wanted to at least try though. I have 350+ poems penned. If anything, I'd like it to take form in something that will stand the test of time. Right now, they're sitting on a internet database/art-site. I will be checking out your literary magazine though! Checking it out now.

What is it going to be about? haven't quite nailed that yet. somewhere in the realms of a 'what's wrong with the world' rant - a blend of philosophy, theology and politics.
