My parakeet is about 2-3 years old and I purchased her from a PetSmart and I think she is healthy. To make sure I bought her that thing you attach to there cages with the stuff in it.
We got her from a PetSmart and she is very sweet. A few months later we got her a friend and she loved it but she and her friend mated and she laid eggs but she didn't get eggbound, thank goodness. But her mate mysteriously died about a year ago. She was alone for this past year so we got her a friend. Her friend is a male. And she recently has been getting pink color above her head, Is that bad? Was it good to get her another friend? I read the pink was cause she wasn't in a position to mate...Is that true? Is she alright?

Have you got a colored mineral block? That will powder up and waft around and gets on their heads. So you end up with a pink (or whatever color it is) headed keet.

the thing with the stuff in it is a 8-in-1 that has this stuff that keeps mites and all that away. now that i think about it i do have a pink mineral perch she and her friend peck at but her head hasnt ever turned pink from it before and the new bird(which im calling Foo) doesnt have any pink. i am not at my house currently and cant see what its called andd oh yah shes been acting normal
