Here is Cookie perching! Well kind of. Perching with one foot and holding onto the cage wall with the other.

I'm glad shes finally using the rope perches!

Hey it's Cookie! LOL Awesome to see her perching Justin. So, she's getting around better? Cool smile
I wonder if there are any "exercises" that would be good for her?
That thought just popped in to my head...lol

Yeah Rocky loves them as well!

I think she could get around pretty well before, its just that she's settled in now (starting to talk btw, no official words yet lol) (also still in denial she's a he... i won't admit it!) and is moving around more rather than just sitting in her one spot high up all day long. I ended up putting her toys up there because she never went anywhere else, and she was happy for that! She plays all the time now.

In the background of the pics you can see that platform I bought with the too big bar spacing; what my mom and I did was cover the top and bottom with matching sized(traced and cut) cardboard pieces and fastened tightly(cut off the loose ends) then I put paper towels on it incase she poops on it lol and it seems to work well! I see her sitting on there sometimes now.

So she's doing pretty well here. smile

As for the excercises... Its a good idea I think! I remember Val and her keety races down the hall LOL!! I loved that video. But I have no idea what kind of excercises I would do! Maybe stepping up/stepping down repeatedly. Its a hassle, as she grips with her one foot, then pulls herself up with her beak. Idk. Any ideas anyone?

HA! I was going to say she looks like a he, but you have a better view than I do! LOL Come on now Jus, admit it.."Daddy's little girl" is more than likely Daddy's lil boy" ! smile

Good job with the platform. Good thinkin!

Justin did I miss something? I haven't been able to get on line for a few days for very long at a time! Is cookie challenged in some way? Or just a baby?

I've heard that babies feet are a little different than adult ones. They can sleep comfortably clinging to the wires of the cage! and BTW, she/he is a real cutie!

Lol never!

Hi tweetymom! I should've said something for those that missed the topic when I got Cookie.
Cookie has splayed legs, and incase you don't know what it is, what it is (lol) is when in the nest the mother sits on them too tightly/in the wrong position/without enough bedding and their legs grow outwards. Heres a useful link;

Nice to hear from you. smile

Ok now I remember! I read the link too. So she is getting along good? Does she have any problems getting around her cage?

Sorry for all the questions. LOL. It's just that I hadn't been on here in so long!
