I have a question for you, Helwa.
Why do birds have an odor on their feathers after they have a bath?

Like their body has an odor.
Is it the water?

normally birds just smell like seeds since they tend to be around them and seed do have a smell but its not a bothersome smell.

a bird will smell like its environment, so if the bird has a foul or unpleasant odor its probally something nasty in his cage or he could be sick, being sick tends to make them smell bad.

I noticed a odor on my bird the other day when she got a really really wet bath! I was not sure if it was bad, but it was a new smell.

I replaced her water, and then had her get back in, when she was full dry it was gone. Maybe the little feathers get "wet bird smell"

after re-reading helwa i think it may have been a wet seedy smell.

possibly ... i happen to love the way they smell haha so im the wrong person to ask LOL

but if you smell a foul smell, thats not normal, specially if its comeing from their mouth, that could be a very serious issue.

could be the water... smell your water.

here in florida we have water that literally smells like the business end of a cow

its horrid... sulphur water ... yuckkk outside at night when the sprinklers come on it smells like a cow pasture

sometimes the water smells more than other times ... we have a water cooler and get water delivered to the house in those huge 5 gallon jugs and it has the temperature controls on it, for hot cold and 'normal' water ... i use that water for EVERYTHING including birdie bath water ... i cant even stomach turning the sink on to wash dishes half the time
