I usually order a vanilla malted milk shake, so I had to ask Marge to describe the blizzard, PDM. I asked her what makes it "german chocolate" as opposed to "hot fudge." She explained to me that german chocolate, as in a german chocolate cake, is with pecans and coconut. I surely wouldn't know.

So, PDM, should I tell MIke that chocolate is good for him. He'll be delighted. LOL

No! It's bad for him (and for me, too, unfortunately)!

Chocolate is definitely one of the things that triggers his acid reflux. Life can be cruel. He loves chocolate so much and I can take it or leave it.

Marge was interested in the topic and what y'all had said, so I read her all the comments starting with Val's comments about the kisses.

Do any of you watch the Food Network and the shows on there? On a program last night, one of the early Challenges (back when Iron Chef Bobby Flay had a baby face, Marge said), one secret ingredient was coconut and the other chocolate. One chef - I think the challenger, who was a top Pastry Chef, talked about how a particular (British, I think) type of salt made the chocolate more enhanced in flavor (sweeter? more "chocolatey?").

Interesting things watching these things.

I dearly love chocolate. For me I crave it off and on. It is more of a comfort food for me. Not sure why. I try to limit myself to only a small piece or two. However, if I have had a really bad day I have been know to eat an entire bag of Dove milk chocolate caramel squares! So not good for you.

Salt does add to the flavor of Chocolate. You can see that it is added to most chocolate recipies. Not sure exactly what it does but I have tried it. I tried a recipie without salt and the same one with and there was a small difference.

I like the ones that have nuts in them. I'm not sure if they're Dove, though.

I've never had Godiva chocolate. Is it good?

I don't think I have, either. The name makes me think of long-haired beauties riding horses, though.
