Could what's growing out of his cere be a pinfeather that is just really close to the cere?

Whew,That is SUCH good news! Happy to hear that Tweety is fine.Glad you took him to the vet,Better safe then sorry right?
Good call Sherby's mom!!
jana, bathing is supposed to help with itchiness and to soften pin feathers when they're molting. If he doesn't like baths you could try misting him with warm water or at least maybe try a nice wet piece of lettuce he might rub on in his cage smile
I know there is something called a molting supplement you can feed them when they're molting.(looks like different kinds of seeds) Does anyone know what it is supposed to do for them and if it really helps?
Hope Tweety's over his crankiness soon.Be patient with the lil guy, molting must stink!

I agree with kksuns, their personalities seem to change like pms. They get quiet and they decide they don't want to fly and they get nippy sometimes. I hate to see him unhappy but it is so cute sometimes when they are tempermental. You can tell when they are grumpy, they glare at you. I didn't know it was possible for a bird to have so much expression without facial muscles but they do. Sweetie gets quiet and sits still and looks at me and it is definitely a glare. A few minutes later if I don't correct what I am doing wrong, I get a little nip when I go in for a kiss. HAHAHA

Do any of you have a bird that will turn his back on you if he doesn't feel like talking to you right then? Levi does that to me sometimes. I'll go up to his cage to chat a minute and if he doesn't want to be bothered with me he'll turn his back to me. LOL
I just sort of chuckle and say "How rude, fine I get it, didn't mean to bother you" lol
