Hi everyone, i have not been on in a long time, but i need some advise. I have 3 babies, Bootzy(F), Sammy(M), and Kami(F) Kami is in her won cage b/c the other 2 pick on her. But my problem now is Bootzy keep emptying her food dish. I can't figure why. She will literaly get inside the dish and start flicking out the food. I fill it in AM and by afternoon it is gone and i have watched and she is NOT eating it, she is taking her feet and scrapingit out of dish. Does anyone have any suggestions on whats going on here? TIA

Could she be trying to find a place to nest?

That sounds like a possibility. I have no idea how to tell, but maybe one of the 'breeding experts' on here can help out, when they come on.

One of my female keets started doing this a few months ago out of the blue, automatically I thought she was trying to nest but after a few weeks she more or less quit.

Could be nesting, but the bird I have now & the bird I had before did this when we gave them food they did not like. As soon as we bought the food they where used to they went back to eating & stopped kicking/pecking it out. (picky little guys)

If she's in a breedy mood and there's no nest box nothing will happen. She will most likely think it's not a good time to nest, and move on.
