Kel, I've done the bowling - on the Wii of one of her sons from the Tampa area. But no way am I going to give Marge an excuse to be boxing me about the ears!

By the way, I'm hooking up our utility trailer today. Tomorrow we are driving to the Tampa area to get Marge's Mom's furniture. She's staying with us now. We may not get back until Sunday (and possibly Monday). I thought I'd better say so y'all don't think I'm angry or been waylaid.

Carl, that was so nice of your uncle! My Uncle loans money to almost everyone in the family. When he was in his twenties, he somehow inherited a small oil well, or something like that. Anyway, a few years later, he almost lost it, and he prayed to God that if he would let him keep the oil well, he would use the income to help God's people. By some miracle, he was able to keep it, and since then, he has put all fo the money he gets from it into the "family fund." He loans or gives money to people in tha family when they need it. He pays my grandmothers health ins. every month, etc. He loaned me $2,000.00 to buy and fix up a car, and asked me to pay him back $1,000.00. He also loaned me $1500.00 for my apartment, so that I could put down the security deposit and first months rent, and buy some furniture. He doesnt charge me any interest, and if I cant pay every month, he is okay with that.

I have always thought that if I/we won the lotto, I'd like to do that - have a fund for scholarships, "loans," and financing of family needs.

we usually do our taxes right after we get our papers. then get the money right away too. BUT now they have changed to law to NOT let military get money next day, thru H&R Block at least. but that is better i think, so we get more money back. i'll take more money a few days later, rather than less money the next day.

Yes, I agree. I regard that kind of thing - where you get your money right now - as kind of like the "loan" on your check, or on the title of your car, or pawning your watch. Sure, you get money right now, but they get their profit and then some.
