when i tried to give my parakeet a bath today, i noticed blood under it's wing. what is this? it is still bleeding/..i dont know what happened. is there anything i can do until i am able to take it to the vet?
Yes, if it is a broken blood feather, the feather needs to be removed and that is not something that can just be done. A lot of damage can be done by someone pulling a feather when they don't have a clue what they are doing.
Re: parakeet is bleeding
it does sound like a blood feather and those should be remove.it's something that has to be done entirely correctly or you can cause a bird harm.there is a topic that showned how to do that.but for someone one is nervous better to that your bird to the dr.
