Nutriberries are actually supposed to be a complete diet, not a treat. I feed them as a treat because I'm not rich... the only reason I even bought them is because my vet was telling me they are the optimum budgie diet, nutriberries and fresh greens...

nutriberries sound healthy but It still seems like a treat. I saw them at petco today and thought about geting them but Jess already likes most veggies.

Mine have just been throwing the whole seed ball around, so I crushed them up for the keets and Caesar. I mixed in with regular food... We shall see.

My vet recommended them however even with crushing them up mine seem to ignore them, but I keep trying. Princess shows no interest in them either, not even to throw.

With trail mix meant for humans, you would have to worry about salt and preservatives and so forth.
There may be some that are ok for birds - I don't know - but please read the label very carefully and be sure you know ALL the ingredients.

Pudgie likes Lafeber's Avi-Cakes, so I'll have to look into those Nutriberries. I use the Avi-Cakes as a treat, and of course she only picks out the little seeds and ignores the pellet-ish chunks!

I am willing to try ANYTHING, at this point. We're now trying our third brand of pellet food, and it's not looking good... frown (I've said it before and I'll say it again: Sometimes it seems like we might as well throw $20 bills into their cages as shredder toys!)

Mine are fed strictly Nutriberries, mostly for my parents' convenience. All they have to do is crush them up and put them in the dish.

They are somewhat expensive, usually $7 for the regular sized tub. I haven't found any petstores in my area that sell the gallon sized tubs, and I think those are the better deal.
