This report will be short and to the point, so that you can
go check that your parrots are NOT eating any of the foods
that have been recalled. I first learned about this recall
from the New York Bird Club.
Some of the products are not parrot related, but some of
you may well have hamsters, gerbils, or other pets that might
use the listed products, so I wanted to include the entire set of
facts. Here is the information on which products are involved:

REASON FOR RECALL:

Pet treats were imported from China. LOS-DO sampled the
treats and they tested positive for melamine. The shipments
were placed on hold for redelivery but were erroneously shipped
into commerce. Over 54,000 units have been distributed in the
United States in the States of Arizona, California, Florida,
Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Texas, and Washington.
