More pictures coming right up. Oh I am such a dork!

I do have a problem tho, in that I smoke and now have company in the room with my smoke. Do any of you smoke?

I think we scared the poor guy with all the attention today. He won't go to sleep and yet he is all tuckered out. I tried closing his blankie and no luck.

Oh well, he likes the sound of the keyboard. laugh

welcome to the forum he's a ladies man alright.first chance you get please read lisa hand training forum.two things I am concerned about is 1-plastic perches, they are bad for a keet feet.rope or wooden perches are better.2-smoking,just like humans smoking can shorten a keets life span.it can cause tumors in animals just as in humans.it's fine to use a sheet or blanket to cover your bird,or anything else as long as it is not plastic.a good balance diet of seeds, pellets, fruit and veggies.no choclate, apple seeds, there is a list somewhere on the forum of foods that are bad for keets.good luck and again welcome.

Thanks momma. I know I shouldn't smoke around him or my kids, but, I have a problem with being addicted to smoking and coffee.

I read all Lisa's stuff and have had a bird previous that lasted 4 years til the cleaning lady killed it by spraying stuff near the cage. Believe me it was trumatic. I was at the vet holding the poor thing while it died and crying and balling like a big old baby!

here is a new close up of the baby laugh

Uh, that looks like a brass cage.

Your bird may die if allowed to chew on that cage wire.

Don't feel bad though, you didn't know, but if it is brass, get your bird out of it!

brass is poisonous to parakeets.

I tend to doubt it is brass coz that would be expensive and I am sure this cage isn't. I will have to find out more of where it came from - the cage and the bird.

another picture for you - my baby feeding his new baby!

Another question - how much is too much food. First the baby wouldn't eat at all and now he has eaten seeds from my hand, both my boys hands, and now again with my son - in between he is snacking on that hanging food thing!

Is he gonna get sick with all this food?

Aww I love Spanky lil cutie. Unlike dogs i really don't think birds over eat. I have food in the cage all day and my keet is a skinny lil' thing.

I would remove the mirror before he notices, I wouldn't want to be the big bad taking the mirror away after he loves it. Do it before he has a chance to miss it.

I highly reccommend the comfy rope perches. They are different lengths and thicknessess you can bend them and they never slip or fall cos they screw on, so unless he lears lefty loosy righty tighty the perch will be stable. I also reccommend a mineral block and a cuttle bone well really they are necessary.

Also remember a bird feels safest highest so you will notice once you get perches at different heights he will probably sleep on the tip top one.

He is just adorable. Good Luck.

I do the same thing cocos mama

I leave food in and change every 3 days.

I use a different technique, I have my huge cage and a screen on top. On the screen I have seed spread flat all across it.

I keep it spread so that all of it gets eaten and not covered by shells.

I also have several tube feeders.

and some seed at the bottom.
