Both of my birds are holding there wings out and shaking them a bit like this..(sorry no camera atm >__<)


The temperature has gone up quite a bit the last few days so I was thinking maybe there just to hot? o= Is there any way I can cool them down besides opening windows or turning on fans?

Give them bath water to cool down in.

BTW, if you give them water but they don't bathe voluntarily, you can mist them.

(Just be sure the spray bottle has never held anything but pure water. You can usually get small ones cheaply in the travel/trial size aisle at WalMart or Target.)

yeah great drawing and yeah thats just them cooling off...just as a dog pants,this is the keets way of "panting"...and i have the same problem with mine because the humidty is so bad here in the mountains now and i just mist mine with a spray bottle. mine took a liking to it after the first few times i done it

i've seen eagles and other birds perch like that in hot weather. birds use their blood circulating thru their wings to cool off. i give mine a mist now and then. make sure there's no breeze on them when you do.--nicolo

Are there any special signals they show when they're too cold?
I see mine do that wing-shake when it's hot but I have no clue on how to spot if she's cold.

toralora: from what i know, they can fluff up and puff up when they're cold.
