Well was reading some the other posts, and now im confused >_<

I understand in older budgies its a simple case of

Blue - Male
Brown/other colours - Female

Except in Albinos etc.

But in younger budgies, its harder to tell. I thought was if they have slight white rings round nostrils there female, and males tend to be bit more playfull (though varies with budgie)

Anyone got any other ways can tell in young budgies?

if you have a pic of the keet...I can tell the sex of it almost 100%.

You just have to learn the differences...

both lem and paradise have white rings, but are both 200% males.

Wow thanks! laugh That was so cool!
Sorry, but then wouldn't you say that huntly528's Pretty Bird is a male? Because s/he has medium blue with light/small white rings around nostril. Or is s/he light blue with white rings...I think it's pretty dark...
Thanks.

So if I found a very young keet (lines to the cere) and the cere is purple, it's probably a male? I saw one today that I love, but I really want a male. I didn't get it because I wasn't sure, but it is definately a purple cere.
