Well, we just got back from the vet with my little rescued parakeet, Hudson. "He" got a clean bill of health. And we found out... he's not a he... he's a she. So my daughter thinks we should rename her to Daisy. What do y'all think?

The vet said that his wing is fine. The girl at the store was wrong about the bruise (besides the sex) and she was wrong that she was underweight. The Dr. says she's going to be a petite bird... not very big at all so her weight is just fine. All in all, he said she's "quite a little find" and he liked her. But he warned me that she may take a very long time to train... if she can ever be trained because we didn't get her when she was young.

He gave me the ok to let her out of her cage... and to have her play in the water. So we bought her a bath... but she's not sure what to do. To say the least... this is all very fun.

^ i agree. i consider my first bird to be a "rescue" as well. it was my friend's, but she was doing a horrible job of taking care of it. but with time, my bird and i got to be so close

I know how you feel, my baby is also petite for a keet, she only weighs 28 grams, and the average is 30-35 but the vet said shes at a healthy weight so. LOL we both have petite keets lol.

wow sam and chloe are way small then when sam was sick he weighed 26 grams and look wise chloe is littler than him....they eat a ton and are healthy so who knows...i go the midgets i guess. chloe is still a baby though maybe she will turn into a moose and be huge!

So glad lil Miss Hudson got a clean bill of health! As for being small our little Mickey (who we thought was a boy at first but are pretty sure it's a girl!)is a tiny bird too and she is just fine. Some birds are just littler than others. In comparison to my other bird she is small (which in turn makes him look big!! LOL!!) I can't wait to see more pics of her!!
