My new keet is acting rather strange. I recent bought two as I work during the day. She's recently been jumping into her food tray (not perching). Once in, she digs and eats. I haven't had her for long so she's still in the process of getting used to new home. Could she be stocking up for an birth to come, nesting, what?

Any insite is appreciated.

Here cere is brownish. From what I've read, that's an indication of a female. Again, I'm new to keets so I could be wrong.

Keets don't get pregnant. After mating, it takes about one to two days for the eggs to come out. She may just want to sit in her dish because she thinks it's comfortable. If you don't see any eggs by tomorrow or the next day, then it's nothing.

Yes, the other is male. She's also been eating LOTS. Each time she "nests" in her food tray, I hear the constant crackling of seeds.

She also seems to be possesive of both food tray diggin and gorging in both.

I'm filling my empty nest with feathers. :0)

It's been a couple of days and no eggs. In fact, I read on the web that gorging can be inline with moulting (as well as grumpiness). Guess what, feathers everywhere. That's for the feedback guys. All is well (so far).
