I got myself ANOTHER parakeet. I believe I have a bit of an addiction. It's only 5-6 weeks old so I've had to keep a close eye on it and make sure it's eating and has a full crop. So far, it's doing very well. It will mostly only eat millet right now, but that's expected. It has eaten some regular bird seed as well, but I don't restrict it to just that since it's more important that it eats rather than what it eats at this point. Right now, I am uncertain whether it is a male or female. So I have no name. Maybe you guys could help me.

Very cool. all those birds are beautiful. I am very glad to see the new birds was so easily accepted, you have very nice and friendly birdies. All are amazingly beautiful, and especially your new one, wow just amazing. Thanks for sharing they are so cool. I understand the addiction once I have more room, it will be very hard for me not to buy more of them, they are just so much fun. Well best of luck and best wishes to you. Jloc

What kind of branches do you have in your cage? I thought of cutting some from my yard but I'm not sure what would be poisonous to them.

Toxic and non-toxic plants - There is a link to the best site I've found regarding toxic and non-toxic plants for keets.

One of our very old lilac bushes died last fall and it was very gnarly with soft, chewy bark. I cut it into two pieces and put them in the cage so that they wouldn't be able to move. Here is a picture.

Your cage looks really awesome!! My bf got me a branch from outside a few days ago and my keets were loving it but I took it out because I wasn't sure if it was safe or not. How would one know what kind of branches they are??

Your new keet looks so adorable. I suck at names...but how about Cloud (she's white with some gray)???
