Hmmm. I'll have to think about it. I love gardenias, but that would be too sweet-smelling to be me. And I don't think I'd want to be an exotic orchid. Hydrangeas are pretty and are a different color based on the mineral content (or metal) of the soil. But I think I'd want to be able to control my color to a certain extent, and to have protection (like roses). I wouldn't want to be an entrapment plant.

Maybe a Christmas cactus, but they only bloom once a year.

Marge says there is no flower that is permanent. They bloom and then they die. She notes that silk flowers are "permanent," but they're not real, and they collect dust.

Marge says she'd like to be a magnolia, because it's up in a tree, and squirrels run around and have fun. Or a day lily.

So, I guess I'll just go for beauty and live for the moment. I think I'll be a carnation - not the most beautiful, perhaps, but in a simple way quite lovely and fulfilling. Maybe others would enjoy my input into their lives.
