We have 2 cats but we also have a bird room that we put a screen door on so the birds can fly free and the cats can't get in. I know not everyone has the luxury of having a bird room so if you do get a cat and have the birds just make sure to either shut the cat in a seperate room when the bird is out or only allow the bird freedom in one room with the door shut so that the cat does not have access. All it takes is one bite and your bird will be gone. Cat siliva can kill your bird as well as the bite.
