Ukraine Wines

Ukraine is the breadbasket of Europe. Ukraine was known throughout the Russian empire for its fertile soil, great wines and friendly faces. In modern times the locals still drink the vast majority of their wines, so many people in Europe and the US have never tried any Ukrainian wines.

I adore Ukraine. I visited there for a week and every day was amazing. The farms, the landscapes, the scenery was simply beautiful. From the west to the east, I encountered a variety of styles of food and architecture. However, when I returned to the United States I could literally only find ONE sparkling wine from Ukraine to drink, and that was after a great deal of searching.

Ukrainian wines can be VERY challenging to find in the US. You tend to only find them in ethnic / specialty stores that cater to an Eastern European client base.
