Solid Screw Corkscrew

This corkscrew has a solid core screw. It is hand held, and has a bit of heft to it. When you turn the handle, a screw moves down that penetrates the cork. Then there is a handle to pull it out.

The issue with solid core screws is that they drill a solid hole down the center of the cork, pushing so much material out that it either falls out into the wine or breaks the cork into bits. Avoid these.
