Step 2 - Wine Cork Trivet Instructions

Cut the felt to fit around your piece of wood. You want it to be able to wrap around to the front of the wood when you close the felt over on the left and right side. They should meet in the middle. Also, the top and bottom should be able to fold over about an inch. This way it doesn't unravel easily.

It's good to have sharp scissors for this step. Felt doesn't cut well with dull scissors. I discovered this the hard way.

Here's an image of what the felt will look like when folded to the middle.

Don't worry about which side of the wood is up - the entire wood rectangle is going to be covered by the felt in the end.
