Japanese Server Photographs - Sake
This is a pretty server for sake! This is a daruma doll. In Japanese tradition they would paint in one eye when they began a project, and the doll would sit on a shelf with that one eye painted in as a reminder to keep working on the project. When victory was achieved, the second eye would be painted in as part of the celebration.
