Chocolate and Shiraz

Shiraz is known for its spicy blackberry, plum, and peppery flavors. Often there are additional notes of licorice, bitter chocolate and mocha.

You can see why this goes extremely well with dark chocolate! Shiraz is just about made for dark chocolates, especially those that have fruit flavors in them, like orange chocolates. I recently had a Shiraz with a raspberry-filled dark chocolate and it was an extremely good flavor combination.

Because of the mocha flavors in the Shiraz, Shiraz also goes well with mocha flavored and coffee flavored dark chocolates.
