Winegard is a distributor in Great Neck, NY which represents quite a selection of wines. We were intrigued because they had Australian, Pinotage, and Canadian icewines right next to each other. James Goldsttein, the president, was friendly and quite knowledgeable.

We started with their Two Oceans 2000, a 66% Cabernet/24% Merlot blend from the west Cape area of Australia. At only $5/bottle this is an excellent best buy, light and easy to drink.

The Fort 1998 Simon Pinotage was still young, tasting rustic, tannic, and fuzzy. We might get some of this for our cellar. The 1998 Magnotta Vidal Icewine is from the Niagara region of Canada, and was smooth and simple, with a light fruity flavor. They also make a Cabernet Franc icewine, the only red icewine from Niagara, but they did not have that available for tasting.
