Wine Increases Bone MassA key issue for elderly people is their bone mass. As people age, they often lose bone mass, causing serious problems when they fall and break bones. A study done in 2000 of elderly women in France found that drinking 1-3 glasses a day actually increased the bone density for the women. In comparison, those who drank no wine at all or who drank more than 3 glasses a day showed no benefit.
